Darkus' Valheim Server - Outland
Mods overview
I've created a group of pre-configured mods which you can install as a single mod pack (see next section).
Here are a few useful notes about the installed mods:
- Press + on the numeric keypad to auto store items into nearby chests.
- Press B when using the build hammer to allow free camera movement.
- Kilns, smelters, and other production machines will auto pull fuel and materials from nearby chests.
- When planting/harvesting crops, hold Shift to mass plant/harvest.
- Crafting at workbenches will use materials in nearby chests.
- Permanently remove debris like sticks and dandelions with with cultivator tool (use the deconstruct button / middle mouse).
- Pets can be fed with food in containers instead of it needing to be on the ground.
- Press the Home button to toggle the clock on/off.
- Quick slots are assigned to the numeric keypad 1-9.
Installing the mods
Download and install the Thunderstore Mod Manager.
- Start Thunderstore Mod Manager app.
- Create a profile for Valheim. I recommend creating a new profile named Outland so that you can import all the mods I am using into your new profile. You might want other profiles with different mods for other servers.
- Select the Import/Update option on the profile.
- Click Update existing profile button.
- Click From Code button.
- Paste my shared modpack code: (ask me for the current code)
If the import is successful, your profile should contain these mods:
- BepInExPack_Valheim
- AutoRepair
- AzuAutoStore
- Build Camera Custom Hammers Edition
- LazyVikings
- PlantEverything
- AzuCraftyBoxes
- PlantEasily
- QuickConnect
- AzuClock
- PetPantry
- RecyclePlus
- ExtraSlots
- ICanSeeClearlyNow
- WieldEquipmentWhileSwimming
- YamlDotNet
- ConditionalConfigSync
Starting the game with mods
Important: Starting Valheim from the Steam app will not load mods by default. Use one of the two methods below to start the game with mods loaded.
Method 1 (easiest)
Open the Thunderstore Mod Manager app and select your Valheim profile. Then click the blue Modded button in the upper right corner to start the game with mods.
Method 2
Alternatively, you can edit the launch parameters for the game in Steam so that you don't need to use the Thunderstore Mod Manager to launch the game. This gives Steam the info necessary to load mods when the game starts.
- Right-click game in Steam library and choose Properties.
- On the General tab, paste the following into the box below "Advanced users may choose to enter modifications to their launch options."
"--doorstop-enable" "true" "--doorstop-target-assembly" "C:/Users/YourUserName/AppData/Roaming/Thunderstore Mod Manager/DataFolder/Valheim/profiles/YourProfileName/BepInEx/core/BepInEx.Preloader.dll"
- Be sure to replace YourUserName with your Windows user/folder name and YourProfileName with the name of the profile you created in Thunderstore Mod Manager.
- Now you can launch Valheim from the Steam app and it will load mods from your Thunderstore Mod Manager profile.
Connecting to the server
- Start Valheim with Method 1 or 2 above.
- Click the quick connect button labeled Outland. It will be in a floating window somewhere on your game screen.
- Select or create your character and click Start.
